the etudes are a series of visual or conceptual explorations.  These are works- in-progress that investigate ideas in a concentrated or free-form way.  The pieces included here might not always end up making it into a permanent body of work, but their inclusion on this site helps me to play with sequencing, and to evaluate them in a medium that allows for improvisation and the free-association of ideas and its translation into visual expression.

desk bound started as a stray visual accident, and soon morphed into an exploration of abstraction and color, foreground and background, and how to create, from a limited canvas and locality, from seemingly banal and haphazard arrangement of objects, compelling and enigmatic aesthetic constructs.
